During the break, I try to visualise story board of our group assignment using Flash. After such practice, I can catch the skills on how to operate the keyframe and scene. Also, I can recognize some skills on the creation of simple animation on picture and text. On coming week, our group hopes to learn what new skills on the application of Flash. Thus, our group can finally make the thorough visualized presentation to meet Daniel’s requirements. The following is our group’s amended storyboard.

Reflection On The Use Of Photostory
April 10th, 2007 by oscarlee in Uncategorized · No Comments
It is my first time used this software to produce the photostory. The first problem I met in this activity was what topic was presented using the Photostory software because there were various topics I wanted to visualize. Thus, after the fifth lesson, I spent almost one and half week to make serious selection on the topics. Finally, I chose to visualize the event which describes my son how to play at Po Hong Park. (NB: My son played at the Sunday afternoon, but the decision was made at Sunday night).
Conclusively, the software is user-friendly. I only spent one night time to complete the activity of photostory. However, I had some amendments on the design of photostory. Thus, I posted at the blog at the Tuesday afternoon. I hope the audiences like this story. In view of father, it is the first time I make such interesting photostory for my son.

PHOTOSTORY
ADVENTURE OF RYAN
@PO HONG PARK.TKO.NT
( EASTER VERSION )
The photostory describes my son, Ryan, played at the Po Hong Park, which situates at Tseung Kwan O, during afternoon of Easter Holiday (at Sunday). He was very happy when he reached the park. (NB it is second time for him to play at this park)
Firstly, he ran to and played at the facility of children’s slide. After ten minutes, he chose to play the children’s swing. You can find Ryan always smiling when the swing were swinging. Unbelievable, after another ten minutes, he jumped from the swing and then ran through the holes to get the swinging car.
Fortunately, his mother could follow and catch him. It is impossible for the adult to guess what a child likes in the playground. Later, he ran back and jump into the swing. During he swing the swings, you can appear that he laughed the other children which played the swings beside. I think he used up more energy for playing. As a result, he slept at the swing. Finally, he was carried back to home for his continuously sweet sleeping until the dinner time.
If you can’t see the words in the photos, pls copy the following linkage and paste it at the address bar to get the file of photostory that can be seen at Window Media Player with larger view.

Theresa and I formed a group and selected the topic “Ancient Egypt Technology” for group assignment. After we have collected the related information from Internet and books, we build up the preliminary design of story board. Please CLICK the document StoryBoard for Group Assignment to see our preliminary design.
Reflection for Lesson 5 (My First Flash Example)
March 26th, 2007 by oscarlee in Uncategorized · 3 Comments
Flash MX is the software I never use before. After introducing by Daniel, I knew that it was a powerful software to deliver the idea or knowledge by different view of points. (i.e. combination of multimedia such as image, picture, music etc together into Flash)
In addition, I recognise that I need to read the text book of Flash and digest what Daniel taught in the short period. Then, I need to apply the concepts and skills to the group assignment to produce efficient and effective communication between the audiences.
After the forth lesson, I try to use more skills on developing Flash file. The following is the Flash example using the skills learnt at lesson 4.

During the break of the 4th lesson, I discussed with Theresa what topic we would be studied for visualisation. After the lesson, we decide to present the information about the Ancient Egypt. Before confirming the topic of our group assignment, we surfed the Internet and found the books in library to explore the interesting area on Ancient Egypt. In this post, I thank for the effort of Theresa. We can explore the following topics: 1. Building of the Great Pyramid
2. Ancient Egypt – Famous People
3. How to make a mummy
4. Hieroglyph
5. Ancient Egypt Technology
At Friday night (i.e. 23/03/2007), after our serious discussion, we choose to develop the Ancient Egypt Technology as an interactive representation and audience is Primary 4 student. The reasons and learning objectives are as follows:a. 1. Why this topics
2. Learning Objectives

Reflection for Lesson 4
March 22nd, 2007 by oscarlee in Uncategorized · No Comments
After the lesson 4, I find that it is difficult to transform the raw materials of knowledge to the format which any audience can digest, either through PowerPoint or Flash. Moreover, the information displayed on the presentation may be too simple or overload that affects the attitude of self-learning. Filtering and organizing the relevant information becomes more important. Hence, developing the prototype for visalisation of knowledge is not easy.
Through the Robert Sabuda’s pop-up book provided by Daniel, I get an idea that “We can present the information multi-dimensionally”. It means the presentation includes not only the scripts, but also other media to help the audiences to understand and construct their knowledge.
For Flash software, after the demonstration by Daniel, I can really understand the basic animation made by Flash. In future, I hope Daniel can show more advanced skills to make effective presentation.
Reflection for Lesson 3 and Product of “Raindrop”
March 20th, 2007 by oscarlee in Uncategorized · 3 Comments
After I had visited the classmates’ blog and see the visualized representation, I found that design of each visualized representation was different but delivered the same message on Earth’s atmosphere. Thus, I agree that visualization is creative and innovative.
At third lesson, Daniel showed me that there were many designs for visualization. Also, Daniel pointed out that despite the best design, it was impossible for the designer to deliver incorrect messages or ideas to audience. Thus, visualized representation became garbage for the audiences. Conclusively, gathering correct information is very important for designer.
At the end of lesson, I invite Theresa Li to join a group for the future assignments and class activities. In addition, Daniel requested us to make the third visualized representation on the topic, which was the shape of raindrop.
Daniel pointed out that there were many descriptions on the shape of raindrop, but some were not correct. After discussion with Theresa, we tried to surf the Internet, and then found out and digested the mass of information on the shape of raindrop. We tried to compare the difference between the descriptions on shape of raindrop. Based on our common sense, we chose the correct one, and then allocated the jobs between Theresa and me to design and write the visualized representation using MS PowerPoint.
Happily, this lesson gave me good experience how to start the visualized representation, and filter the incorrect information.
The following is linkage to download the slides to present raindrop. Pls comment slides of our group about the shape of raindrop
